Urgent Desire
We want to be happy and healthy, succeed at work, and maintain wonderful relationships. But the world is changing so rapidly it sometimes feels like we're standing at the edge of the ocean, and the tide is rising. First it laps against our ankles, then surges higher, until the waves are pounding us. Run! Jump in and swim! Do anything but stand still! In the 21st century, finding answers takes on urgency.

Solutions lie within ourselves
When we try to do better, we find ourselves restricted by old patterns that take us no where or move us in the wrong direction. Self-criticism, worry, and guilt for example, do not move us forward. But even when we want better patterns, we don't always know how to achieve them.

Find new patterns
To improve ourselves, we use strategies we know, and seek new ones. A hundred years of research and writing in the mental health and self-help community provides a sumptuous smorgasbord of motivational books, tapes, and seminars to help us get the most from life, to break through patterns and achieve goals. Spirituality provides another source. Dive into clear, new expressions of these timeless truths to help face the challenges of modern life. Yet another place to look for an ever deepening pool of wisdom is within your own psyche. Through meditation, writing, dreaming, reverie in music and culture, and other introspective activities plumb the depths of your soul.
